EVERYBODY KNOWS

Everybody knows how the story goes

But strange as it seems

Without broken dreams

We wouldn’t be here

Everywhere you’re from there’s a rule of thumb

On how to proceed

But all dirty deeds

Must begin somewhere

So many paths to follow

All leading to tomorrow

It’s what they told us as we grew up

When we said go they told us to stop now

But no one is to blame

We’re all just people

Trying to get by with who we are

Where would we go, where would we be

Is there room for us all

As we stumble and fall

Searching for answers

Can’t you see the way to a better life today
Is easy to see

If we could agree

Wouldn’t you want to
